This month we shall look at the power and influence of "consistency"
John C Maxwell says "you will never change your life until you change something you do daily. I've become intentional about my life, so must you
How do we become consistent?
Discipline - Motivation gets you going and discipline keeps you growing. We are creatures of habit. You must have a clear vision of WHY you want to achieve something. Think about the change you want to see in your life, how that will feel and look, write it down. Always start with the end in mind. Get a handle of the destination, anything worth fighting for or living for will always cost you something. You can't change your destination over night but you can change your direction.
Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements gained slowly over time.
Just do it - Long after the adrenaline, excitement and positive feelings run through your veins have waned and faded away, now is the real test, when circumstances stack up against you, it's easy to make excuses. Example ; You have planned to run twice a week and you've opened the curtains to see the streets and roads are covered in snow. It's easy to stay in your warm bed and make excuses, our lives and society are to keep us in a comfortable environment but we only grow when we step out of our comfort zone. Each morning when I wake I say "just do it" 50 times when I awake and when I go to bed. It focuses your mind and reminds your life, mind and body that regardless of the difficult and obstacles I will just do it. It's good to dream, but those dreams must be turned into action to produce the life we want.
Don't give up- Never ever ever ever quit on yourself, sometimes we need to evolve and reinvent ourselves, we must have a lifestyle or reflection to continually plan, ask questions of ourselves and reflect on each event in our lives to grow and be encouraged with the progress we have made. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and who tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear. There are so many dream stealers in this world and potentially in your circle of influence.. If your business is not flourishing, take a step back, don't be pig headed or stubborn, reflect and reinvent but don't give up on your daily disciplines to make a life change. Remember our days are our lives in miniature.
The successful person has the habit of doing things that failures don't like to do.
Life goals are achieved by setting monthly goals. Monthly goals are reached by reaching daily goals. Daily goals are accomplished by doing things which maybe uncomfortable when we first start out but with time become habitual habits. Habits give fuel to power. Habits turn actions into attitudes and attitudes into a consistent life style.
